I love the cool crisp air, the changing of the leaves and decorating my house for Halloween.

Crisp cool air and clear blue skies, taking a fall walk through the leave with my family.

My favorite fall thing--which I can no longer do-was to join the historical society in the first fall apple cider pressing in Maine. It was always at night--a frosty one. There was always a big bonfire to keep warm. That first sip of what was apple juice then, the smell of burning leaves, children laughing while toasting marshmallows---ah, the sounds, smells and taste of fall--glorious!!! I wish that I could do that again!

Living in CT, I love the scenery!! The leaves are changing and we're currently in Peak Season, so it's a bounty of beautiful colors outside my window. Who couldn't love that view? :)

When my son was younger we would hop in the car on a Sunday and take a ride to the country to visit a small town where they had chicken dinners. We'd eat then take the ferry across the river and drive through the countryside. How I miss those days now that he's in college.

I love having bonfires in the fire pit with my family on cool crisp nights.

(Wow! What a giveaway!)

Another thing I like about fall is the fact that I host Thanksgiving at my house. It's the least stressful of all the holiday's because there are no gifts to worry about, just good food, family and conversation... oh and the smell of turkey filling the house doesn't hurt! :)

Another Fall favorite of mine is making homemade soup when the air gets crisp. That hasn't happened here in Florida yet---but it will! YUM!!!!

Well, I bet I got this comment in early enough since it is 12:36AM Saturday morning.
My final favorite thing about Fall is sitting in front of a crackling fire with a cup of hot tea--lemon and sugar, of course,---and a good book. Actually, that is more of a winter "thing" in Florida but we do have a fireplace and we do use it!!!

Lori said...

I love the food - apples and pumpkin pie, chili, bean soup and corn bread, weenie roasts and SMORES!

Sue C. said...

Maple Sugar candies!
